The first pair of Track Pants was introduced in the 1920s by Émile Camuset. The track pants were simple knitted gray jersey pants that allowed athletes to stretch and run comfortably.

Track pants are usually made from cotton or polyester, often of a heavy knit. They often have elastic in the waistband, drawstrings, and may or may not have pockets. Some track pants can also feature elasticized cuffs at the hem of the leg. Track pants are traditionally ash gray in color but are now available in most colors. Traditionally quite "baggy" and loose, track pants are now also available in more form-fitting shapes; moreover they have flexibility and comfort. In addition, this design traps less heat than most conventional, lightweight trousers, which may be a disadvantage in some conditions such as cold temperatures and an advantage in others such as body heat–increasing aerobic activities. Warmer varieties can be made from polar fleece.

Because of their comfort and fashion, they have become a popular choice of clothing. The track pants may come from many different materials and in many forms including thick and thin. The track pants is sometimes associated with certain lifestyles such as gym culture or hip-hop culture. This niche-specific perception of the track pants since the 1980s has at times resulted in extensive dress code regulations with some outlets outright banning the wearing of track pants on their premises; including some German cafes and a substantial amount of night clubs worldwide.

1) Normal Wash Track Pants Production:

Printing is done on the row & unclean fabric so that about 30% of the printing done on the surface may eventually fade away. Finally, printed track pants are caustic washed. It leads to, about 30% of the printing washed away along with the foreign materials- leaving about 70% of the printing on the fabric. It eventually makes the design or stripe of the desired look. For this type of wash, the printing must be pigment print with a binder. Baking treatment should also be performed so that the color will stay on the fabric more or less securely to coincide with the caustic wash to be done later.

8) Garment Wash Track Pants Production And Over-Dye Track Pants Production:

This type of wash is also used for track pants to give them an exclusive look. Garment wash track pants production creates a unique but different look. In this process of wash, the lining or pocketing will pick up the color too. By this garment wash, direct dye or reactive dye same as dyeing fabrics or yarn may be used. Direct dye is cheap. So, direct dye may be utilized with the concomitant use of color fixing agent, after dying to make the color more stable. In case of solid color fabric staining within the track pants is not a problem. However, if track pants of different colors are washed together by the consumers, color may transfer to other track pants. Reactive dye is always preferable in this case.
